Book Review by a Counselor
"Rick's well balanced book considers a variety of influences parents can
learn more about in order to be more well rounded parent-coaches. He uses tried
and true concepts in new and practical ways that parents will feel comfortable
enough to make small changes while learning to
try new things and being creative. Prioritize, simplify and schedule time to
communicate in a different and more effective way. Be involved not only with
your kids, but their friends and parents. Sometimes it's
ok to say nothing by shutting up to listen. His hope, and perhaps the result of
his practical suggestions will be Olypmic teens that mature to be thoughtful and
communicative adults. In addition to the
fundamental concept of communication, this guidebook reviews other more
practical techniques such as rules & consequences, boundaries & consequences,
compromise and challenging topics of conversation. Rick
even tackles the sometimes uncomfortable subjects of discussing various aspects
of human sexuality with teens. Most refreshing is his dependence on Faith and
dialogue with God through prayer."

Book Review by a Counselor
"Rick Zapf has written this book for parents who find themselves in a rough patch with their teenager. It is insightful and down to earth. Any parent that finds themselves up against a wall with their teenager will find helpful and meaningful suggestions for smoothing the path between their teenager and themselves. It is a good read and one that will leave even the most beleaguered parent with hope."

"I really love the way that you reach out to parents and avoid the pitfall of being too clinical."
